THE EXPERIENCE OF OUR MEETINGS
We meet every week on Monday from 6pm-8pm
unless it's a holiday
Nous nous rencontrons chaque semaine à tous les lundis de 18h-20h
à moins que c'est congé
The meetings are separated into 3 major sections:
Improvisations, Prepared Speeches, and Evaluations.
1.The impromptu speeches are speaking without preparation for 2 minutes. This is the part that usually scares many. But it is by doing more of impromptu speeches that we get better. This will help in any situation where we need to come up with an intelligent answer quickly like in job interviews.
2.The prepared speeches where members complete projects in the Toastmasters manuals. Each project or speech represent a lesson in learning the art of public speaking. This will help us be able to write and deliver an appropriate speech.
3.The evaluations where we listen to constructive feedback from an evaluator about our performance. This helps us to know which areas to improve.
The Toastmasters program is very different from taking a course in public speaking because we give you a venue to perform at every meeting. At every meeting you learn to develop your communication skills.
